Tears for Heros

I can cry a thousands times but it will never change anything Not you, not me nor that honey bee over by the counter. Yes, do you remember that spot, Where our love was brand new, Where the sun set every noon, Where your skin and my skin lasted forever after? But times have changed leaving me ashamed that a tear has left this soul. I scream out with the will of a thousand tigers, Begging to believe that the one I love is still alive, Breathing, laughing and kissing my cheek with each hug. Understanding is a big part So I guess I've gained no knowledge. Your cheetah prints and sticking needles Leave reminders of your sass and will And soul. You never let them tear you down and neither will I. You are my role model, before during, and after your last breathe. Come Back! I yell "Come back!" But what does it matter. I cry for what? For you For what was, for my past. With a mix o...

Two Words, Eight Letters

The word "Take Care" brings back so many memories, all seemingly bad. Who knew that 2 four letter words could mean so much. We argue and say that the word "love" means a lot too, so I guess we really do have to watch the power of our words.  Take care. Every time I think of even saying those words to someone else, I remember why I don't like them. I remember when you used to tell me take care every time we talked when it ended. It sounded like you were 100% gone forever. But you're not, so what now? Within the past 24 hours, I made two bad decisions. Decisions that reminded me of why I even came across the words. I hurt someone, and didn't even know I would.  They say that sex is either blinding or binding even when you least expect it. So I guess us doing so led one to another, which led ignorance to another and decisions to a goner. So, who misses out now? Me, twice. Thanks to the lack of self control, I repeatedly have to take care; or a l...

"Island" by Aldous Huxley

Image
A phenomenal book written by a phenomenal man. This novel is a must read by any and everyone who  enjoys a fiction tale based off eastern and western philosophical teachings. As I dove into it head on, I found myself reading familiar sayings and perspectives of Asian philosophy as this novel is based off of a Buddhist society in Pali. Their views are simple, tactics practical and way of life peaceful, however, a young soon to be ruler challenges their "basic" way of life as he was stripped of his rights and raised in the western society during their "Golden Age" of industrialization, money, and wars.                 Huxley's view on life is presented in such a way which will have an ordinary reader wanting to experience what these characters breathe everyday. Peace, love, joy, happiness, and overall a nonjudgemental society morally sane. If only his view on what life shoul...

You

Love.  One of the most powerful words, yet used so carelessly. What would you say if I said that I still love you? Would you run away? Or would you stay to hear me say how I have nothing to lose.  I fear that this is so.  If I lie and wait and let "Time Heal Me," Then I may never feel that feeling when I've finally accepted that difficult task. I wish that you could let me be that person to mend what I broke; That person to listen when your torn,  and that person to break off those prickly thorns.  My only wish is to have you; a dream so faint, yet feels so real. I wake up in a cold sweat ready to call out your name Only to realize that...  I am alone.  When I finally accepted the fact that you were gone long before you left, It still hurt me. However, the person that I have become Cannot be compare to the person that left you in shambles when you left me. I may have been the cause for your present state, but...

It's About That Time

Society thinks that they know how life is supposed to be lived. The problem is that their wrong. If God has created us to love, hurt, cheat, lie, break hearts and kill truths, then whose to say what's wrong and what's right? The church maybe? Maybe the government? Or just your mother? Bump that. I make a decision, but it's wrong. People say, that's terrible, how could Nayo do something like that. Well just the same way that you "live" and breathe. I am sick and tired of all the nonsense people in this bubble of a community have to say to me. Is it because I'm a young, black female? Last time I checked, girls like to have impulsive fun too. So for all of those who are "cold blooded" or just decided that it takes too much to give a fuck about people anymore, you've been hip to the game a very long time and I commend you. It may seem like ranting and raving, but people forget that I'm a person too. Whether you think the world revolv...

Ring of Eternal Enlightenment

Image
For these past few months I have been reading and studying philosophy and its branches from religion and spirituality to scientific or just basic meanings. It has been an utterly amazing journey in which I have embarked on and a long one at that. However, time does not bother me for the present moment is all that really matters. Aside from my acquired knowledge, I have decided to get a tattoo. I wanted something that was thoughtful and meant everything that I stand for and what I may learn. So after studying alchemy for a bit, I have learned a grave amount about the symbols and their meanings. In addition to researching tattoo designs, I found one that is very peculiar yet possesses the mesmerizing power of all that is. It is life reborn into the eternal journey of enlightenment. Lead engulfed by the transforming power of Gold.  I may add my own accent to this design, but as it is now, is simply beautiful. So to the designer behind this pattern, may you continue on y...
