"Island" by Aldous Huxley

                  A phenomenal book written by a phenomenal man. This novel is a must read by any and everyone who  enjoys a fiction tale based off eastern and western philosophical teachings. As I dove into it head on, I found myself reading familiar sayings and perspectives of Asian philosophy as this novel is based off of a Buddhist society in Pali. Their views are simple, tactics practical and way of life peaceful, however, a young soon to be ruler challenges their "basic" way of life as he was stripped of his rights and raised in the western society during their "Golden Age" of industrialization, money, and wars.                 Huxley's view on life is presented in such a way which will have an ordinary reader wanting to experience what these characters breathe everyday.
