A World Full of Boxes

Today... Let's be honest with ourselves.
How many boxes do you have? No really... Tell me. If you're anything like the average human being you probably have this many multiplied by ten one hundred and one times.
Don't be ashamed, because as I dive deeper into myself, I realize that I own a pile of boxes as well. Now you may ask, where am I going with this? Here's one simple answer. Each box holds a different assumption about the world and everything in it. Each box is specialized, coated with an emotion either good or bad. Each box is stored within your heart, mind, and soul. Each box may not be fully understood. Each box may be the reason why your life may not seem favorable. Let's dive into ourselves at this moment to understand why these boxes exist.
What is an assumption and how do they form? The human brain remains as a mass phenomena that scientists and spiritualist continue to explore in the aspirations of full understanding. Now, as we see fit or comfortable (however you care to describe it) humans search for meaning which tends to be more important than finding a means of reasoning. Therefore, based off a prior experience, given information, etc... humans build assumptions, the act of accepting something as true or having certainty that something has happened in the absences of proof.
Honestly, it's alarming that we as so called logical human beings will presume anything at all without having any proof! No wonder why relationships, businesses, or even our own spiritual selves may remain in a constant battle. We fail to understand the importance of asking questions simply because we believe that what we know (assume) is always right. Wrong. Oh so wrong. Here, our pride, our ego plays a gigantic role in our inability to ask questions. Essentially we fear to doubt, therefore we fear to question. We fear the truth, therefore we assume without knowing. Life is very simple, yet we make it hard. Instead of assuming something, question everything. We have the mental capability to use our thoughts and our words to learn the true nature of being. Why not use what we already have?
Let's all think about this... How has holding a thousand and one assumptions impacted your life? Did you apply for that job or school? Did you fix up the courage to talk to your crush? Did your relationship fail because you and your significant other fail to communicate and ask questions when you feared something was wrong? What didn't you do because you assumed you knew the answer? What have you allowed to slip away from you simply because you couldn't drop your ego for one second to face your fears? How has holding assumptions impacted your life?
All of these questions can be catered to your own personal circumstances. All you have to do is drop your pride, be brutally honest with yourself, and ask what assumptions do I (meaning you) hold about others, things, myself, and where I live. Then ask yourself, what do I really want to know? Because trust me... you deserve honesty. You deserve simplicity. You deserve a life devoid of fear. But here's the catch, you have to want it for yourself.
Assumptions can rule your life without you even knowing. So analyze them, figure out why they are there, and find the courage and strength to get rid of them (at least that ones that are hurting you). Free yourself so that you can truly love with the power that lives within you. You may feel weak, and that's okay. But trust me, once you admit, you become stronger than ever. We all deserve freedom from our boxes!
I spread peace, love, and happiness to all of you!
Nameste.
